This is an animation I did while working for Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation. The goal of this project was to create an intro that showcased the legacy of The Rocky Mountain Collegian. This publication is over 100 years old, so I wanted to emphasize this longevity in the video. I did this by utilizing news archives and placing them in the animation as a focus. Even converting them to a texture by compositing them within the logo to create a unique and fun design!
This design was made for the purpose of being a "banner" animation footer for video projects. The challenge here was to find a way to use existing brandmarks to achieve a familiar look that fit brand guidelines. To do this, I decided to recreate the mountain shape into two separate parts to make a frame around the central logo design.
"Robot DJ" was a project for an Electronic Art class I took while attending Colorado State University. My goal here was to make something that joined music with a character that you may encounter in a virtual reality headset. I went with a "synthwave" styled grid and color palette. The purpose being to time up musical tempo with deliberately smooth animated movements. Essentially, this was an example of musical visualization.
This is an animation I made for Rocky Mountain Student Media Corporation for the use of online advertisement. I wanted to make it simple and showcase simple, yet familiar symbols we use while doing online research.
This animation was made as an experiment of a new workflow I have been refining. This style utilizes rotoscoping and image tracing to create more realistic and textured animations. While this style takes a lot of time, it makes for a blurred effect between video and animation that can be really fun to interact with as a viewer.
